Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP)
VEP directly measures the electrical activity in the visual system as it travels from the eyes to the brain. When light enters the eye, the information is converted into an electrical signal that travels through the optic nerve and other pathways to the part of the brain that processes vision, the visual cortex. The VEP will measure the strength of the signal reaching the visual cortex as well as how fast it gets there.
The VEP technology in the Diopsys NOVA device helps us determine how the eyes communicate with the brain in a way that no other instrument or vision test can.
Infrared sensors detect eye movement patterns while reading. This allows us to assess the impact of ocular motor dysfunction and binocular vision dysfunction on reading.
Using a 3D TV this computer program provides stimulating graphics to develop 3D depth perception and increase range of binocular fusion.
